Hi, I’m Katie, the creator behind Katie’s Kitewear!

I’ve been sewing and crafting jewelry for over 15 years, and I’ve always had a passion for creating things with my own hands. I earned my CTE certification in Fashion Design and Construction, giving me the skills and knowledge to turn my creativity into wearable pieces.

But for me, fashion has always been about more than just making something beautiful. Sustainability has been a passion of mine since I was a child. I’ve dreamed of finding ways to make the fashion industry more sustainable and to help reduce the incredible amount of waste it creates.

The fashion industry is one of the largest sources of waste in the world, and I believe we can do better. Instead of throwing away materials that still have life left in them, I want to give them a second chance.

That’s where Katie’s Kitewear comes in.

I create unique pieces using materials that might otherwise be discarded, including old kite material and thrifted clothing. By transforming these materials into something new, I’m able to combine my love of fashion, crafting, and windsports with my passion for sustainability.
